LED Walls at the LifeChurch.tv Tulsa Campus

I paid a visit to the LifeChurch.tv campus is Tulsa today.  I’m so glad I did.  The campus team did an awesome job with the lights.  They used Martin LC 2140 LED panels provided by Integrity Lighting.  Here are the pics. Enjoy!

Expanded Lobby and Auditorium Opens at the Edmond Campus

One of the largest LifeChurch.tv campuses just expanded their auditorium and lobby.  If you’ve visited the Edmond, Oklahoma campus you know that the old lobby was woefully inadequate.  It wasn’t really a lobby; more like a glorified hallway.  The Tech Team was responsible for installing sound speakers in the new auditorium sections, the lobby and outside of the building.  We also installed TVs and stage light fixtures  in the lobby.

Many people worked hard to make the new space look awesome.  Here are some of the pictures I took this past weekend.

After the Insane Week

Thank you so much for your prayers and kind words.  I survived the insane week.  Actually, it was a great event for me.  The tech team did really well.  I am so thankful to be working on a team with some very gifted and dedicated people.  There were some challenges in supporting this event.  One of the challenges was having to setup and teardown the tech gear in four different locations around town.  The other challenge was getting a three screen rear projection system to work on a stage that was never designed for that.

As you can see from the pictures below, it didn’t just work, it was awesome.  In case you are wondering, we rented a Catalyst Media Server to display the images and manage the projectors.  Click here for more info on it.

Enjoy the pictures.

After the Insane Week

The Insane Week Begins

This week is going to be an insane week for me and my team. This week is the October Event. On an annual basis, the church brings in the entire staff and their spouses from all over the county for meetings, worship, and even a picnic. In addition to hearing from our senior pastor, we will also be hearing from Bill Hybels, senior pastor at Willow and Steven Furtick, senior pastor at Elevation Church. My team gets to make sure that all the audio, video, and lighting technology works for this event.

We begin the setup today as soon as the weekend experiences end and we won’t stop until Friday afternoon. I know that I’ll be working at least 75 hours this week. I’m sure some of my team members will be putting in more.

I’d appreciate your prayers for me and my team. You can pray that God would give us the energy, stamina, and patience we will need. You can also pray that we wouldn’t have any problems with the technology. We’re using some video projection technology that is new to us. Please pray that it would enhance and not distract.

I’ll keep you posted on how things go.

An Update

Life has been pretty hectic lately. It seems that as soon as we get back from one trip, we are on the road again. Right now I am writing this from a hotel room in Indianapolis. The family and I are on our way to New York to spend some time with my wife’s family. Indianapolis is the halfway point between Oklahoma and New York.I’m excited to see the extended family again. It’s been nine months since we’ve seen them. I’m especially excited to meet the newest member of the family, Ethan. He is brother-in-law’s newborn son. He just came into the world last week.

So what else has been going on? Well, effective June 1, I started in a new role as Technical Director for LifeChurch.tv. My team and I are responsible for all the audio, video, lighting, and satellite systems for all the church campuses. It’s a big job and I am very thankful for the dedicated guys I’m serving with.

So what else is going on? I have been working very hard to lose some weight. For the first six months of this year, I have not made much progress in my weight loss. So at the beginning of June, I decided to get back on track. I’ve worked hard to improve the quality of what I’m eating and I am now working out 80 minutes a day, six days a week. The hard work has paid off. In the last 14 days, I’ve lost 12 pounds. I praise God for that. I’m going to continue to work at this until I get to 165 – 170 pounds. With God, I know I can do it.

For the next few days I probably won’t have internet access, so I won’t update the blog too much. But as soon as I get back, I look forward to sharing with you what God’s been doing in me.

Pictures of the GOC 2.0

This past week, we did a major upgrade of the Global Operations Center (GOC). If you need more information on what the GOC is, just look at my previous post. With the new setup, we have the ability to simultaneously view the experiences at 10 of our campuses. Previously, we were only able to view 4-5 at one time. In addition, we are able to view the Internet Campus experience, the Attendance Management system which shows us real-time attendance data from all the campuses, and a global map web page that show us what part of the world people are logging in from to attend our Internet Campus experience. None of this would have been possible without the hard work a long time LC.tv team member, Evan Hamilton. Here are the great pics…

This one is for all the Apple fans out there. You’ll be happy to know that much of the technology that is being utilized in the GOC is Mac based.
