My Weight Loss Progress

12/6/08 – Why haven’t there been any updates lately?  I wish it was because things have been going smoothly.  I wish I could say that I have been exercising 6 days a week and eating right.  I wish I could say that I have been maintaining my weight.  I can’t say that.  It hasn’t happened.  the reality is I’ve fallen off the wagon and have gained nearly 20 lbs. in the last four months.  I’m pretty disappointed with my self on this.  It’s time to get back up and start the process again.  Your prayers are appreciated.

As of 8/10/08, I’m at 166 lbs. I’m a little bummed. I was hoping to get to 164 lbs. by 8/7/08. It’s okay though. I’m headed in the right direction.

As of 8/3/08, I reached another milestone. I’m currently at 167 lbs. But today, I’m more excited about my fat percentage and metabolic age. My scale measures these things as well as weight. Currently, my fat percentage is at 20% and my metabolic age is now at 36. For the longest time, my scale would read my metabolic age at the max of 50. Over the past few weeks, that number has been decreasing. Today was the first day that it was lower than my actual age. I’m told this is a very good sign. I’m not sure if I can make it to 164 lbs. this week, but I’m going to keep trying.

As of 7/20/08, I’m at 168 lbs. My goal is to get down to 164 lbs. by Aug. 7. I’m getting closer.

As of 7/1/08, I am 172 lbs. I lost 17 lbs. in June. Praise God. Still working to my goal of 164 lbs.

As of 6/27/08, I lost a total of 50 lbs. I am now at 173 lbs. Woo hoo! You can read more about it here.

As of 6/5/08, I’m happy to report that I am 181 lbs. I got serious about eating right and exercising and I lost 8 lbs. in 7 days. I know that the weight loss is not going to continue at this pace, but it was nice to see those pounds come off quickly.

As of 5/29/08, I am 189 lbs. Yep, after being on vacation for a few days, I gained 6 pounds. This is not good. Today, I start a weight loss contest with some other IT and Tech folks in the church world. I need to get serious about losing the weight.

As of 5/23/08, I was 183 lbs. Okay, but not great.

As of 5/12/08, Why hasn’t there been a status lately? I’m embarrassed to report that my weight has crept up over the last few weeks to 185 lbs. Not good. I’m trying to get back on track. I should have some better news in a few weeks.

As of 3/15/08, I’ve been bouncing all over the place, but right now, I’m 179 lbs. I’m working to get down to 175 lbs. within the next month.

As of 2/25/08, I got down to 177 lbs. This is the lightest I’ve been in over 10 years. I wish I could say that I got to this level and lost these last five pounds because of hard work and determination, but that would be a lie. I got sick last week and didn’t eat much. I know the weight may come right back as my appetite returns, but for now, I’m going to enjoy this.

As of 1/30/08, I’m back at 182 lbs. For the past two weeks, I’ve been bouncing between 180 and 182. What’s happened? I cut back on my cardio to 3 days a week and I started strength training on the other 3 days. I’m told that this weight gain can happen when you start strength training…still…I want to be losing weight, so I am going to try increase my minutes on the treadmill and see what happens.

As of 1/16/08, I’m down to 180 lbs. Praise God. I’m exercising 6 days a week again and the weight is starting to come off.

As of 1/1/08, I’m at 182 lbs. Yep…I went the wrong way over the holidays. But I’m getting back on track and I’m setting a new goal to get down to 164 lbs. by the end of 2008. I’m praying that God will give me the strength and perseverance.

As of 11/09/07, I’m down to 180 lbs. I thank God for getting me here. Just 7 more lbs. to go by the end of the year.

As of 10/25/07, I’m down to 183 lbs. Just a mere 10 lbs. to go!!!

As of 10/1/07, I’m down to 185 lbs. Another 12 lbs. to go by the end of the year.

After 5 months of exercise and eating in moderation, I’ve lost 27 lbs. and I’m no longer obese. My goal is to get to 173 lbs. by 12/31/07.
